When talking about the cell phone industry, it’s hard to ignore the new iPhone. Released June of this year, the iPhone 4 has changed the way we use our mobile phones.The first feature you’ll notice about the Apple product is its crisp, clear screen. Due to the phone’s high pixel count, no matter how close you zoom in, the words and images won’t blur. Before 2000, Verizon Wireless was a combination of old companies that merged into one. It started in 1995 when Bell Atlantic and NYNEX mobile combined to form Bell Atlantic-NYNEX mobile. Two years later, the name would change again; this time, back to Bell Atlantic Mobile. As the old expression states, all things come in threes. In 1999 Vodafone AirTouch and Bell Atlantic Mobile combined, and in early 2000, Verizon Wireless was in full effect. For a name that has only been on the market for ten years, Verizon Wireless has certainly taken the industry by storm.With a collection of popular cell-phones the competition between A T & T and Verizon is constantly rising. The Droid, one of America’s most popular selling phones, is an exclusive of the Verizon Company. Containing a 5-megapixel camera, a GPS provided by Google Maps, and collection of other apps, the Droid is Verizon’s version of an iPhone.
